Big Guy Gone by Elaine K Smith

Today, my high school classmates are holding memorial for a wonderful guy who passed away very suddenly.
I can’t attend, so sent this poem for them to read at the event.
He was an award-winning chuck-wagon cook.

Big Guy Gone

With a heart as big as Texas
And the strength of a great bull
Randy lived his life well
Leaving his friends’ hearts full.

This bigger than life guy
Was as gentle as he was strong
Ever quick with a smile
And always ready with a song.

He left us too soon
And with an amused look
We remember our friend
The big guy who could really cook!
